DePaul Diesel Service,Inc.
Almost 30 years of quality service

Dennis Klodner, founder and President of DePaul Diesel Service Inc., worked his way from E5 Aviation Machinists Mate Jet, while in the U.S Navy, to Service Manager of one of the largest truck dealerships in Rhode Island.  Among his many accomplishments as Service Manager, he also instituted a second shift and increased the workforce from ten employees to twenty in three years.

Dennis wanted to work on Aquidneck Island, where he and his family lived. On June 1, 1979, he and his wife Pauline opened the doors of DePaul Diesel Service Inc. The name originated from a combination of the owners names and not some exotic diesel engine.

Originally located on Aquidneck Avenue in Middletown, DePaul Diesel Service Inc specialized in heavy duty truck and farm equipment. As the trucking industry started to decline in the late 80's, the marine industry grew stronger in Rhode Island Dennis shifted the company's focus to the boating industry. This has now developed into DePaul's main area of expertise.  On January 2, 1990, DePaul Diesel Service Inc moved its entire operation to East Passage Yachting Center to better service the majority of their customers. DePaul Diesel continues to service their truck and equipment customers at this location.

DePaul Diesel's workforce has increased from two employees to 11 full time employees in its twenty seven years in business.  DePaul's employees provide over 100 years of experience in the mechanical arena.

Jamie L Freitas, Vice President and partner, joined the Company full time September 1, 1999. Jamie graduated from Portsmouth High School majoring in automotive through the Newport Vocational Tech program.  During his high school years, Jamie worked part time at DePaul Diesel Service Inc. After graduation in June of 1990, Jamie joined a Ford dealership, where he became a Certified Mechanic. This certification confirmed Jamie's expertise in computer diagnostics as well as all areas of maintenance of vehicles.  He has brought this knowledge to DePaul Diesel. Dennis and Jamie continually attend training seminars and courses as well as provide training in all areas to their employees in the ever changing world of mechanical and electronic diesel technology.
